I have been using this for over three weeks. The manual states it takes three weeks for your skin to acclimate to the shaver. At first I was disappointed. It would not shave close like a razor. Every time I used it kept getting better and better. After three weeks the shave is pretty close but not as close as a razor. Sometimes I would take to long between shaves and it would become harder to get a clean shave. It is best when used every other day or however quick your stubble grows. The only problem I really have with this is not getting the closeness of a razor but it is still great. The other is that at time I need to use the razor to get stubble by my adams apple or neck area. The shaver doesn't pick it up even by doing it slow or by applying more shave. The last thing is the shave gel can get expensive. I purchased a bottle for $7 and it lasted the three weeks. Overall it is a great shaver. You have to stick with it for a few weeks to see if it will work for you. Give it time and you just might not use razors any more.

My husband is absolutely delighted with this razor, and this is after years of using a larger Norelco. Why did we replace that one? Sadly, he is a fighting a tough battle with Parkinsons and the larger, much heavier Norelco was dropped just too many times.
This razor is MUCH lighter, but still accomplishes a perfect shave. Another plus is the lotion, especially when you live in the Denver area which is - a surprise I'm sure to many - a semi-arid climate.
And there is one more plus: This little jewel rinses clean under a hot water tap.
I can't imagine a better razor for someone who travels. The razor and charger take up about a fourth of the space of the larger combo.
Highly recommended.

I have used Norelco razors for over 30 years. T his razor has open back cutter heads & a really neat Nivea lotion dispenser which delivers the closest, cleanest, non-burning shave I have ever had!!!

I've been using Norelco shavers for over 20 years. I probably have had about 6-7 different models. This is by far the best shaver I've had. It shaves the closest and with less irritation(even without using the Nivea). I've tried all the latest big Norelco's with the latest triple action spinning with multiple size holes and shock absorber pads. None of those compare with the ease of this shaver. Even with a long beard this shaver does not rip the hairs or pull them. The heads seem to float on your skin and conform to your face. The old school Norelco's always had a rough quality to them.
The only minus I can give it is it doesn't capture all the hairs. Besides that, it is by far the best Norelco I've had. Oh, and no trimmer.

First I would like to thank the awesome Mr. Tony at Amazon.com customer service. He really helped me out of a bind. When the first razor I ordered got lost by the USPS he straightend everything out and had a replacement shipped 2nd day air via UPS. Thank you Tony!
Now, I bought this razor for my boyfriend, and he had reservations about it. Why so cheap? Why didn't it come with a side burn trimmer? Etc. Well, he got it out of the box and it was brand new and had all the doodads and whistles. He charged it for 80 minutes. Now, before I go on I should mention he has pretty coarse hair and has very sensitive skin and so its a challenge to find something that'll give him a good close shave that lasts, without irritation. Anyway, he charged the thing for 80 minutes (So impatient.) and then shaved his face, dry, without the conditioning cream. It took him 45 seconds, and he didn't have to go over it anymore but to be "Sure" he kept at it for two minutes. The result? It was the closest, smoothest shave he has ever had, and there was not one bit of skin irritation. He loved it. He doesn't have to shave as often because the razor gives him a VERY close shave, and it doesn't take him as long. As for the beard/side burn trimmer? He didn't need it the razor shaved, and sculpted those just fine. Definitely a great buy.
