So Far Very Pleased With This Shaver

Braun Series 3 390cc Clean & Renew System Review

Braun Series 3 390cc Clean & Renew SystemI had an older Braun which served me quite well. I had a Norelco before that. Overall Braun to me works the best with less irritation.

To the product….so far I’m very pleased with the shave. My wife seems to like the smoothness of the shave as well which says a lot to me. I have only charged it up once and over a few weeks now its still going strong. I keep resisting the urge to charge it but I want to see how long this puppy lasts! So far excellent!

The warning light about “cleaning” is nice. All I have done so far is pop the foil off and rinse it with water every few days. I always empty it out daily but it seems to reach a point where the finer particles bring to the warning light eventually.

I haven’t used the disinfectent cleaner system yet. I had it on my old Braun and just never really got into the habit nor wanted to spring for replacements. So far I don’t think I’ll use it.

Cost was great on this. I happened to catch an Amazon price for the 390 model which included the cleaner system that was cheaper than the 370 to my door so I jumped on that.

Overall I gave it 5 stars. Its the best I’ve used so far. Takes my old Braun up a notch.

Best Shaver I’ve Ever Used

Remington R-960 Titanium Rotary MicroFlex Cord/CordlessMens Shaver Review

Remington R-960 Titanium Rotary MicroFlex Cord/CordlessMens ShaverOver the past 50 years I have used every type of electric shaver made and almost every brand, including Remington Micro, Norelco, Braun et al.. Without question, this is the very best of them all. Admittidly, it does require a break-in period. But within a short time it does an excellent job. One of it’s plusses and a secret to comfortable use, is that it shaves closely with a very light touch. Pressing down hard, as we usually need to do with other shavers, causes irritation and burn.

My advice to the “chain-saw” guy who used it once and set it aside, is give it a try, use it lightly, and I think you find it’s a great tool.

I’ve been using it for 3 years and when I accidently broke the clipper, I immediately bought a new one. I recently bought one for my 50 year old son, who also thinks it’s great.

Why You Should Have An Electric Shaver

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Electric ShaverAn electric shaver is a really nice device to have, especially in the morning. It is something that is going to save you a lot of time in the morning because it is just an efficient way of going about things. The problem is that you’ve probably been filled with misinformation about such things. I remember when I told a friend that I was thinking about buying one. They told me not to because I wouldn’t get a close shave. I was also told that the blades aren’t that accurate and you can easily cut up your skin. Well, that was true a decade ago, but today the technology has really moved forward and you’ll get a great shave with an electric shaver.

The first thing to understand is that when these shavers first came out they were designed as foil, which is a word to describe a stationary head. Basically it wasn’t that big of a deal on most parts of your face, it just had a lot of problems on places like your chin where there is a rather large curve for a stationary head to make. Today they have rotary heads, which move and pivot as they shave around your face. This helps you get a much closer shave.

It’s also important to note that electric shavers have changed the directionality of the blades. The used to move in one direction, which meant that you have to constantly adjust the shaver as the grain on your face changed. Today, they have the blades moving circularly, which means that they can adjust to any shaving condition.

Clean shaved lookMen need to shave in order to look clean and tidy. They need to maintain an elegant and professional personality. Clean shaved look is preferred by most men as it gives them a sophisticated and impressive persona that is admired by most people. These days, a variety of shavers are available in the market; however they need to be really fine in terms of quality. A low quality razor may leave marks and bruises on the skin and can also make cuts.

Electric shavers are an awesome alternative for the traditional razors. Men can have a close and fine shave with these equipments with great ease. These shavers usually contain an oscillating and moving blade that helps to trim and cut the facial hairs. One does not need to use shaving soaps, creams or foams with them. They are usually loaded with a DC powered motor that offers the oscillatory motion and works with rechargeable batteries.

Most of the shavers have the foil variety that has a number of metal bands layered together. These are used to pull out the small hair before they are cut and then letting the remaining part of the hair retract in the skin.

There is one another design in which the blades have circular structure and are arranged in triangular pattern to offer shaving. The Remington Razors were produced in 1937 and these were the first successful range of branded electric shavers. The inventor from the Philips laboratories Prof. Alexandre Horowitz gave the most innovative revolving razor for the first time. It consists of various cutters that trim the hair.electric shavers

The earlier models of these devices were to be used only on the dry skin; however the recent new ones allow the use of creams and moisturizers too. The initial razors were powered by the AC outlet; however now there are other options also available like the rechargeable batteries.

There are various brands present in the market that manufacture quality electric razors and other shaving accessories like trimmers etc. Braun, Phillips, Remington, Gillette etc. are the few renowned brands that produce highly sophisticated and efficient electric shavers. One can look out for the beneficial deals on the awesome shavers on the various online shopping portals.

Electric ShaverGone are the days when you had to live with the cut and bruised skin. No cuts, no irritations whatsoever, thanks to electric shaver, shaving has never been easy for men who shaved to satisfy their wrongly nurtured & cultured notions of masculinity. Shaving your beard is o more a frustrating and a must-wash-face daily (?) routine.

How an Electric Shaver Works

Electric shavers have a rather simple construction that attending minor things like making a small solder or changing batteries is pretty easy even at home. If you open the back cover, you will see three main things inside.

They are:

1.A set of rechargeable battery
2.A miniature electric motor
3.A gear train system
And there are two significant things on the outside; they are the switch and the set of blades.

Batteries supply power to a circuitry printed on a fiber glass board called as printed circuit board (PCB) when you switch on the shaver. PCB helps organize circuits without messing up with the moving parts like motor and gears. PCB is an intelligent circuit which decides whether batteries need recharging and if the battery is recharging.

When you start, the motor powers the system of gears which are in turn connected to the blades in a particular sequence which means three gears drive the three blades.

men's shaver

The rotary blades rotate closely within their respective safety cages at speeds variable in two or three steps depending on the model you choose. Since the blades rotate, this type of electric shavers is called rotary shavers. Some manufacturers recommend using their shavers on wet face, but this does not mean that you need to use that foam or lather again. Just soaking the face is enough to moisten the beard. Most other models are dry type.

Who Makes Electric Shavers and How to Buy Them

Even a visit to your near super stores can quickly answer your question. There are numerous reputed models and then there are local and Chinese models available. The top selling brands are easily Philips, Braun, and Panasonic.

Check out the features before you buy. If you are looking for just a trimmer, you need not buy a shaver which hardly helps. Check for battery life & standby time and warrantee. Chargeable battery types will be convenient. Men’s shavers usually have 1000 three heads (blades) unlike the women’s shavers which are slightly different in construction. Check for ‘CE’ certification. Buy always from reputed shops. Check whether it comes bundled with cleaning accessories etc.
