Panasonic ES8109S Vortex Electric Shaver
Posted by: | CommentsIn this article I’ll be writing about the Panasonic Vortex ES8109, and the reason for that is because that’s the shaver I currently use. 
Having sensitive skin made me try many other brands of electric shavers in the past, from Norelco to Braun and older Panasonic models, but at the end, I had resigned myself to just trim my beard every other day.
A few months ago, I started feeling that trimming my beard was no longer good for me, so I did an intensive online research about shavers, and let me tell you, it wasn’t easy, there are MANY types of shavers in the market, and finding the right one is a tough job.
From all the reviews and shaver ratings, it all came down to foil shavers and more specifically, to 2 brands: Braun vs Panasonic. After a lot of reviews reading, I finally decided to go for the ES8109 after a special price Amazon had a few months ago.
Why the Panasonic?
There are several reasons for that, the most obvious one is it’s price, at that time (2 months ago), I paid around $80 for it with free shipping and no taxes, what a no brainer! The average price right now is about $100 shipped with no tax, and that’s still a great price, specially if you compare it to the much more expensive Braun 790cc series, which costs around $220.
- The speed, 13,000 RPM for the Panasonic’s motor Vs the 10,000 microvibrations per minute for the Braun.
- The reviews, both have an almost perfect 4.5 out of 5 in Amazon, so why would I pay double for the Braun shaver.
- I took a chance, Amazon offers returns for 30 days… I didn’t have anything to lose.
I have to say that I’m really satisfied with this product, the one thing I dislike about it, is the fact that the manufacture recommends cleaning it by using the special cleaning system provided… that’s totally unnecessary, this shaver works wet or dry, meaning that you can fully rinse it in the sink. I now enjoy shaving at nights, no more razor bumps or cuts!

Old Vs New Men’s Electric Razors
Posted by: | CommentsIf you’re like me, you have an old electric razor you think you’ll never need to replace.
It isn’t perfect, but it seems to get the job done. You haven’t looked at the latest models so you don’t know what’s different about shavers these days.
But out of curiosity I took a peak at what’s new and here are a few of the things I’ve discovered.
Now there is a shaver that vibrates to condition the skin so hair moves into position for a closer shave. My older shaver doesn’t have such a feature, but it seems to buzz and vibrate because of the motor that turns the rotary blades.
Some newer models have flexible heads that keeps in contact with the skin contours as it glides. Along with the contoured handle, I would imagine designers had ergonomics in mind. My older shaver can’t do this. It doesn’t look as sleek either.
Newer models are cordless and rechargeable. My shaver needed a cord plugged into an electric outlet and now that I think about it, not having a cord to fumble around with would be nice.
The best feature of all with these new electric razors is that they are self cleaning. The razor is placed upside down on a base that contains cleaning solution. With my old shaver, I had to take it apart and clean each piece by hand.
With all the convenient new features available in electric razors today, it just might be a good idea to replace our older obsolete models.

As the name Philips Norelco BG2020 Bodygroom shaver suggests, this product is only for the areas below the neck. It is not used to shave facial hair. It is an excellent tool though for men’s hair growing in their underarm, chest, groins, back and legs. Men’s body hair is very different from women. They are coarser and they are more difficult to remove. Hence, there’s a need for a product that especially targets men’s body hair.
I gave it to my boyfriend as birthday gift 2 years ago and since then, he has not been using any other brands. He has Middle Eastern genes (Pakistani) so the hairs on his body grow a few centimeters everyday. Using the Bodygroom has been a daily routine for him during shower. What he loves most about it is that even in sensitive areas, he finds the shaver very safe and very effective.
He said that the main difference between Norelco and other razors is the design of the blades. The blades of other brands are far from each other. When the skin is loose, the blades tend to pull the skin and make a cut. The Bodygroom is different because the blades are designed to be very close to each other so that saggy skin especially in the sensitive areas is safe with it.
It is designed especially for those who, like my boyfriend, grow hair in the different parts of the body everyday. It is not to be used for beard, moustache or as a clipper. Philips Norelco BG2020 Bodygroom Shaver works effectively and safely because of its foil guard.

Syncro System With Clean & Charge Storage

One of the main reasons I have tried to stay away from electric razors for my entire adult life was because of how dirty they get.
Little bits of beard stubble will build up at the bottom of the razor, and it would need to be cleaned off with a damp rag and a q tip.
No matter how long I would work on cleaning the shaver, I could never get it completely clean.

The Beard stubble is caught in a filter that will need to be changed every 4 – 6 weeks. These filters are available in 2 packs and 3 packs, and they can be purchased at the same place you purchase your Braun 7526 Shaver.
The Braun 7526 Shaver will shave as close as any blade, and it won’t cut your face like a disposable razor will.
It comes with a separate cord that you can take with you on overnight trips, although you will need the stand for the self cleaning feature.
If I had to complain about anything, it would be the noise the stand makes while it is cleaning the razor. I usually just press the button before I leave in the morning and then I don’t hear the noise.
