There are several reasons for that, the most obvious one is it’s price, at that time (2 months ago), I paid around $80 for it with free shipping and no taxes, what a no brainer! The average price right now is about $100 shipped with no tax, and that’s still a great price, specially if you compare it to the much more expensive Braun 790cc series, which costs around $220.

• The speed, 13,000 RPM for the Panasonic’s motor Vs the 10,000 microvibrations per minute for the Braun.
• The reviews, both have an almost perfect 4.5 out of 5 in Amazon, so why would I pay double for the Braun shaver.
• I took a chance, Amazon offers returns for 30 days… I didn’t have anything to lose.

I have to say that I’m really satisfied with this product, the one thing I dislike about it, is the fact that the manufacture recommends cleaning it by using the special cleaning system provided… that’s totally unnecessary, this shaver works wet or dry, meaning that you can fully rinse it in the sink. I now enjoy shaving at nights, no more razor bumps or cuts!

When my wife gave me the Panasonic ES8109S shaver as an early Christmas gift, I must say that I was a bit surprised. You see, I had been shaving with blades for 25 years, and had never mentioned wanting an electric shaver. I have been using it for about a month now, which is long enough to reveal how it “stacks up” against a traditional blade.

VERY convenient!

My next concern was probably the most obvious concern. I was worried that the Panasonic ES8109S would not give me a close enough shave. One of the reasons I never used an electric shaver, was I had heard that the shaves provided were never as close as a blade.

I think, in most cases, that is true. However, this unit has some kind of fancy “triple head” design, which makes my shaves remarkably smooth and close. Easily the equal of my blade, or even smoother!

Finally, this fancy little dude actually cleans and sanitizes itself! Contained within the base is Panasonic’s proprietary cleaning system. It continuously cleans and drys the blades for added comfort and longevity.

So, if you have somebody on your Christmas list that is cussing at their blade razor. Now might be the time to get them the Panasonic ES8109S!

If you’re like me, you have an old electric razor you think you’ll never need to replace.

It isn’t perfect, but it seems to get the job done. You haven’t looked at the latest models so you don’t know what’s different about shavers these days.But out of curiosity I took a peak at what’s new and here are a few of the things I’ve discovered.

Now there is a shaver that vibrates to condition the skin so hair moves into position for a closer shave. My older shaver doesn’t have such a feature, but it seems to buzz and vibrate because of the motor that turns the rotary blades.

Some newer models have flexible heads that keeps in contact with the skin contours as it glides. Along with the contoured handle, I would imagine designers had ergonomics in mind. My older shaver can’t do this. It doesn’t look as sleek either.

Newer models are cordless and rechargeable. My shaver needed a cord plugged into an electric outlet and now that I think about it, not having a cord to fumble around with would be nice.

The best feature of all with these new electric razors is that they are self cleaning. The razor is placed upside down on a base that contains cleaning solution. With my old shaver, I had to take it apart and clean each piece by hand.

With all the convenient new features available in electric razors today, it just might be a good idea to replace our older obsolete models.

As the name Philips Norelco BG2020 Bodygroom shaver suggests, this product is only for the areas below the neck.  It is not used to shave facial hair. It is an excellent tool though for men’s hair growing in their underarm, chest, groins, back and legs.  Men’s body hair is very different from women.  They are coarser and they are more difficult to remove.  Hence, there’s a need for a product that especially targets men’s body hair.
